It is a hand-troweled mineral coating, applied a few millimetres thick over drywall, plywood, MDF or existing tile, that reads as poured, polished or board-formed concrete without the weight, the joints or the lead time of the real thing.
What the concrete look actually is
Two systems produce it, and we apply both. Microcement is a cement-based coating that gives the truest raw concrete character: matte, cool grey, subtly mottled, and hard-wearing enough for floors, showers and reception counters. A concrete effect Venetian plaster, a lime and marble plaster troweled in a spatolato or travertino style and tinted to concrete greys, gives a softer, more architectural version of the same look with more tonal movement, better suited to feature walls, ceilings and columns. Both are seamless, both can be tinted from warm greige to charcoal, and both are sealed for cleanability.
Seamless and monolithic
No panel joints, no reveals, no grout lines. The finish wraps corners, curves, columns and bulkheads as one continuous surface.
Thin and light
A few millimetres over your existing substrate. No structural review, no reinforced framing, no crane.
Any concrete grey
Warm concrete, cool architectural grey, charcoal, or a tint matched to a brand standard. Sample boards first, always.
Repairable
Scuffs and impacts are spot-repaired and re-sealed. Nothing gets replaced.

What is the difference between concrete effect plaster and microcement?
Microcement is a cement-based coating with a raw, matte, slightly industrial character and enough durability for floors and wet areas. Concrete effect plaster is a lime and marble Venetian plaster troweled and tinted to read as concrete, with more tonal movement and a softer hand. On walls, ceilings and columns either works. On floors, counters and showers we use microcement.
Can you get a concrete finish on drywall?
Yes. Both systems are designed to go over primed drywall, and also over plywood, MDF, cement board, existing plaster and sound tile. The surface is skimmed flat, primed, coated in two to three troweled layers, then sealed.
How durable is a concrete look finish in a store or restaurant?
Sealed microcement is scuff-resistant, stain-resistant and wipeable, which is why we use it on reception desks, cash counters and floors. In very high-contact zones we specify a harder topcoat. If something does get damaged, it is spot-repaired rather than replaced.
Can the concrete look go on curved walls, columns and bulkheads?
That is where it beats panels outright. Because it is troweled on, it follows any radius as a single seamless surface with no joints to hide.
Is this a lightweight alternative to GFRC or precast concrete panels?
Yes. It delivers the same visual language at a few millimetres thick, with no engineered substructure, no fabricator lead time and no panel joints. Where a design calls for actual panels, we can finish lightweight panels in our shop and install them.
Can you match a specific concrete colour or a brand standard?
Yes. Send a reference image, a sample or a paint code and we produce physical sample boards to approve before any site work starts.
How long does a concrete effect installation take?
A typical feature wall or counter is three to five days including cure and seal. Larger fit-outs are phased around your schedule, including overnight work in occupied retail.
